Coming soon: Shaken (original fic)

I’ll be blunt. I’ve been un- or under-employed since 2011. I’ve been working as a contractor since last summer, and that contract ended in February. I’ve started a new job, which is part-time and also as a contractor. (I am looking for a full-time job; I have two interviews this week and tonight I completed a pre-test for a third.) The royalty check I was counting on to carry me through the month turned out to be much smaller than I anticipated.

In order to raise enough to cover what my wages won’t, I am offering a original novella, Shaken.

When Sebastian learns his cancer is in remission, his boyfriend Patrick wants to celebrate with a dream vacation. But Sebastian has been shaken to his foundations, and in his efforts to rebuild himself he reassess his life, his goals, and his relationship.

Is Patrick still his bedrock, or is it time for Sebastian to move on?

Rating: explicit.

This novella is now available for pre-order for $1.99 USD. (If I get enough pre-orders, there will even be a pretty cover.) The planned publication date is March 31, 2014. Pre-orders will be sent out on that date, and you will receive a .pdf copy of the story and my everlasting gratitude.

To pre-order Shaken, please visit JennaJonesWrites. Signal boosting is greatly appreciated.

Ever After (character bible)

For the challenge: create, cast, and write 5000 words of an original TV show.

Show title: Ever After

Premise: How do you actually live happily ever after? A new gay couple and their friends deal with kids, aging, dating, new relationships, old ones—how to keep a relationship going once its begun. A family drama.

Episode titles and themes reference fairy tale themes and ideas (white knights, princesses in towers, coming to someone’s rescue, being pure in heart.) Episodes sometimes have cameos from writers (for instance, a pivotal episode will involve Neil Gaiman reading “Instructions.”)
