writing excercises: five characters

I treated myself recently to Tarot for Writers by Corinne Kenner, a book recommended by one of my writer friends. I've been fascinated by Tarot cards since I was about nine and made friends with an older girl in my neighborhood who had a deck that she'd let me look at sometimes. I learned to read them a few years ago through a friend from work, and I've got a few decks that I keep around to help me clear my head.

One of the first excercises to draw five cards to give yourself an protagonist, an antagonist, a protagonist's foil, an antagonist's foil, and a supporting character. I drew:

  • the three of swords
  • the sun
  • the nine of pentacles
  • the seven of wands
  • the fool
