16. Do you write romantic relationships? How do you do with those, and how “far” are you willing to go in your writing?

*laughs a little*
Yes. Yes, I do. I do write romantic relationships. They’re pretty much all I write about: I am endlessly fascinated with the mystery of what makes one person love another. How do they click, how do they feel that spark, how do they find the places in each other where they fit? What does it mean when someone says “You’re the one for me”? How do you make love stay? And the questions at the opposite end: what makes love end?
It’s an endless well to get water from, if you know what I mean.
As for how “far” I’m willing to go, I’ve gotten pretty explicit; but I’ve also read some stories lately that are pretty hot without so much as naming body parts, and I’ve tried playing with that myself. There’s a fine line between sensuality and just too much detail, and writing a love scene is a constant balancing act on that line. I don’t know, I go back and forth on it myself. My comfort level changes periodically, strange as that may seem.
