30 days of writing, day 4

Master post.

Men smooching by e_mily 4. Tell us about one of your first stories/characters!

One of my earliest memories is pretending my big toes were Igor and Dr. Frankenstein, and they were conducting an experiment with my sheet. I was probably about four.

Does that count?

See, I decided to be a writer when I was nine or so (about the same time I understood that books are created because people write them) and all of my characters were pretty much Mary Sues wedged into my favorite media (Star Wars, cartoons, Little House on the Prairie) until I was in college. I think it’s pretty significant that I started writing better characters after I played in other people’s sandboxes for a while.
