I’m weak in the knees for you,
but I’ll stand if you want me to.
My legs are strong, and I’ll move on,
but honey I’m weak, in the knees, for you“Weak in the knees,” Serena Ryder
“What would you do if I kissed you?” Ianto said.
“Kiss you back,” Jack said, grinning.
“In front of people.”
Jack looked at him, tousled hair falling over his forehead, his cheeks still flushed and his lips still swollen. He said softly, “Kiss you back.”
Ianto smiled and looked up at the ceiling. “I don’t believe you, you know,” he said conversationally.
“That’s just your insecurity talking.”
“I have a lot of reasons to be insecure.”
“No, you don’t.” Jack’s hand found Ianto’s thigh under the blankets and gave it a squeeze. “You know I’m . . .” He stroked Ianto’s leg a moment or two before continuing. “I’m quite taken with you.”
“Quite taken,” Ianto muttered, rolling his eyes.
Jack sighed. “Ianto. If I told you, if I said, you’re free to leave me, you can be with anybody else you want, would you go? Tell me the truth. I don’t mind.”
Ianto closed his eyes, wishing that for once Jack would mind. “No,” he said. “That’s the perversity of my nature, I suppose. Offer me the world and I’d still choose you.”
“I’d choose you back,” Jack said gently and rolled onto his side so he could slide his hand slowly over Ianto’s stomach. “I’d choose you and choose you and choose you.”
Ianto managed a smile, still not entirely reassured. “But if—”
“No,” Jack said and tapped Ianto’s nose with a fingertip. “No more. No more rhetorical questions. We are here and now. Here and now,” he said with emphasis when Ianto started to object.
“Here and now,” Ianto said softly and touched Jack’s face. “I could never walk away from you. Not really. Even if you told me to.”
“Then don’t,” Jack said and leaned their foreheads together. “Has your insecurity shut up now?”
“I think so,” Ianto said and wrapped his arms and Jack. He kissed his cheek and added, “For now.”
Jack snorted. “Guess I’ll just have to take it to the next level then, won’t I? You want me to show you how crazy I am about you? How you make me weak in the knees sometimes?”
“Oh,” Ianto said faintly, as Jack’s hands started doing things designed to make him breathless and weak in the knees himself. “You’ve never been weak in the knees in your life.”
“Oh, you’d be surprised,” Jack whispered, adding a tongue to the shenanigans his hands were up to. “Sometimes I look at you and I think ‘that’s mine’ and I—oh, Ianto—I lose my breath.”
“Jack,” Ianto said, losing his breath himself.
Jack laughed, his fingers tracing shapes on Ianto’s ribs, and then said in a more serious tone than he usually used, “Would you ever tell me to go, Ianto?”
Ianto looked down at him, Jack’s chin resting on his chest and Jack’s eyes wide open, and raked a hand through Jack’s hair. “Never.”
“Good,” Jack whispered and kissed him, strong and deep and hot enough to make Ianto weak in the knees.
End.
